So this party was a big hit, thanks to Larry and Carrie who had the awesome idea! We decided one night while we were in my van, listening and singing to 80's music, to have a 80's hair band party! It was the joke to come with big hair, and to totally live up the part. Well, needless to say, we all thought it was a joke but Carrie. I had texted her earlier that day, and said "this party is going to suck big time. It is cold outside and the kids won't be able to play out there so we all better come with big hair." Well I was only joking! Holly, Trish and I were standing out in the garage, and saw carrie drive up the street and all we could see was her enormous big hair......... WOW we laughed harder than I have laughed in a long time. So all the girls decided that we better not leave ourselves out of this one, so we all raced to the bathroom and used I am sure a gallon of hairspray, the best ratting comb, tons and tons of makeup and should we just say some pure 80's talent. In the end we were all so glad for Carrie's brave hair do! Thanks to a fun night and tons of memories!

So this is what we do at our house in the winter and it is a big hit........... I even got my husband to come and learn with me! MaKayja has learned to ski and is doing great. There were a lot of tears and yelling from her in the beginning but when she finally got the hang of it she has loved it. KodiAnn is soaring with her snowboard and is loving it also. I am so out of shape and when I get home I am in a world of hurt because I am so sore. Thank goodness for hobbies to keep up entertained with our long winter months.

That husband that we couldn’t live without, that we picked out the wedding dress for, that we cried and ached and waited by the phone for… is he a burden now? That job you needed, you wanted and prayed for, that provides food and clothing for your family… is it a burden now?Sometimes it seems to me like a mantle we as moms must carry. We must be tired, we must be stressed out; we must be harried and frazzled, we must be lucky just to make it through the day. Are we bearing our blessings as burdens? Are we tired? Absolutely.As moms, we know about the 2 a.m. feedings, the nightmares, the wet beds, the midnight curfews. Do things get a little stressful between PTA meetings, dance class, the T-ball game, and dinner on the table at 6? Sure they do. Are husbands always a joy when they get home from work? No way. Is scrubbing the potty, doing the laundry, and cleaning the high chair tray the greatest thrill we’ve ever known? Of course not.So how do we look past the burdens and see the blessings of our families and our homes? Do you know any women who would give anything to have a baby to nurse at 2 a.m.? Anyone who would love to have those clothes we are sick of washing, or that house we just can’t keep clean. Do you know any women whose husbands aren’t coming home?I challenge you to joy, to smile, to persevere. I challenge you to bear your burdens as blessings and watch as they multiply. We had a really great Halloween this year! KodiAnn and MaKaja dressed up as Juliet, McKesson was a Witch and a Fairy depending on the event and KortLyn was a witch also. The girls always enjoy carving their pumpkins and dressing up for the school parade and the trunk or treat they have down at the church. Alexis and Jared did their annual Halloween party and invited all of her family and all of Jared's family. We ate yummy soup and rolls and of course the fantastic snicker salad. We played bingo and then we danced the night away with strob lights to Halloween music and of course Thriller from Michael Jackson. We had a great time and are excited for next year already. Thanks Jared and Lex!

We went out to the pond and caught frogs with the Bush's and Alexis's and her kids. We all had a ton of fun and I think the kids caught 8 frogs all together. When they all got sick of catching they decided that a swim would be wonderful and they jumped in the water. KortLyn even thought she needed to get wet also, so of course I was in there with her. The kids all had a great time and can't wait to again next year. Oh and for the record there were no leaches found on any of the kids after wards so that is a big plus!

We had a ton of fun at the Palisades with Stacy and her family. The kids had so much fun at the pool and playing on the bumper boats. One of the days the guys decided to go fishing so all of the girls loaded up and we went to Jackson Hole and went down the Alpine Slides. The girls had a blast and wanted to again. After the slides we went to the candy factory and bought them all candy and then we went back to the campground. We all played a fun game of softball and needless to say I completely sucked big time. We ate a ton of good food and just hung out together and had a great time.

We went to Logan canyon with my mom and Patrick and went camping for the weekend. We had a complete blast and didn't want to come home. The girls loved going with Grandma to ride the horses. Thanks mom for taking them they had so much fun. Randy and I went on a 4-wheeler ride with KortLyn and she thought that was so much fun. Her helmet kept hanging down over her eyes so she couldn't see anything, but she was a trooper and could have cared less. We had a great time with you guys! Thanks for inviting us!

So here is the newest additions to our family...... Sallie and Little Bella. I am not so sure if they are lambs or dogs though. Bella just sits on the front portch or the steps in the garage, and waits for the girls to come out and play with her, or give her some much needed attention. One day we were in playing on the computer, and all of the sudden we heard a loud noise, we looked up and noticed that Bella was at the window with her paws up on the window pawing it to get our attention. I am not so sure that I was overexcited about it, but I couldn't get to mad because I had to admit that I thought it was pretty cute myself.
So on to Bella's name...... we all were trying to decide on a name for her and Randy, KodiAnn, McKesson and MaKayja had decided on Sallie. I just thought that Sallie didn't fit a black lamb to well and I fussed and kept saying "no Bella." No one liked it so..... I said "okay girls if we name her Bella and we get a boy next time we can name him Edward" (ya know Twilight) anyways they all thought that was pretty cool and agreed. Well about a week later Randy brings home the little white lamb and of course it was a girl, so we had to think of another name for her so I gave in and decided that Sallie was just fine for her. Maybe Edward will appear someday and sweep our little Bella off of her feet.

This was KodiAnn's first year to play fast pitch softball and she absolutely loved it. She also got picked to be on the softball All Star Team and had a blast doing that. She has improved so much this year and we are so proud of her. Good job YanDre!!!!!

Every year we get together with my family, Stacy's family and friends to watch the fireworks in Logan. We have a ton of fun!!!!! The kids laugh hard and play hard. This year we had gone up camping with my mom and Patrick and just had to come down for the fireworks, since last year Randy and I missed them. So here we all are. Stac thanks so much for all of the good memories and putting this together every year, the 4th wouldn't be the same without ya.

KodiAnn and MaKayja had a piano recital and did a great job. This was MaKayja's 1st recital. She was a little nervous but she did an awesome job. I am very proud of her and I love to listen to her learn more and more every day. KodiAnn did a great job and just played her song with no fear at all (of course she is getting more and more used to it by now). I am also proud of her and so thankful for her comitment to playing and practicing the piano.

We went up to the reservoir and went fishing. We had a good time and the girls caught a lot of fish. We were able to keep three of them but the others were to small so we threw them back. MaKayja was so funny because she would get so excited when she would catch a fish and do this really silly little giggle. She even wanted to put the worm on the hook every time. (sick) She seriously must not be her Mother's child because that is so gross. KodiAnn was pretty happy and proud of herself also when she caught her fish but was a little more reserved and didn't want to put the worm on the hook. (smart girl I must say) McKesson wanted nothing to do with the whole fishing thing and just sat back and enjoyed the day with all of us. And of course KortLyn sat in the rocks and played with them and occasionally tried to eat a few. Thanks Jared - Lex and Kids and Aunt McKenzie for the fun day.

I hate more than anything to have to brand the cows....... but I understand the purpose of it to. I always tell Randy that it has to be pure torture to the poor things, but he just laughs at me. KodiAnn was such a big help in getting them in the shoot and helping us out. That girl has no fear and sometimes it worries me. I thought that after she broke her tooth off, due to the cows, that she would be scared, but this is so not the case. I think she is even less scared of the dang things. McKesson is so funny and likes to just sit in the truck and wait. I think they scare her just a little. MaKayja pushed Kortlyn in her stroller around the barn and they just did there own thing. What memories we can have of the "good ole" times down on the farm.

It has been such a joy to have this little one in our home for the last year. KortLyn has brought so much love and laughter into our home. We always say that "we could not imagine our life without this sweet spirit and how grateful we are that we took the chance and decided to try one more time even though there wasn't a lot of encouragement from the Doctors. Even with a hard pregnancy and very scary times it was all worth it."
KortLyn had a fun birthday party. She wasn't so sure about digging into the cake but she did it after some time. She got her fun little swing and she absolutely loves it. We put her in it for the first time and she just laughed and laughed. She was laughing so hard that it was one of those rolling belly laughs. We were in return laughing our guts out just watching and listening to her. We had a cook out with all of the family and opened presents and then of course ate cake and ice cream. We had a great time and thank you to all that came and enjoyed this day with us. Also thanks again for the presents. We love all of you!

Make a wish!!!!

McKesson is such a sweet little girl but at the same time full of so much attitude and spunk. We always say "how can a little girl like you be so full of attitude?" She either smiles and shrugs her shoulders or gets really mad, but it is so true. For her birthday she wanted a swimsuit and her little mermaid cake so bad. So of course moms and dads are miricale workers and grant them their wish. This year because of the two day difference in McKesson and KortLyn's birthdays we decided to celebrate their birthdays together so that family would only have to come once. It worked out fabulous! Kesson said that "she wants to have her party every year with KortLyn because she is so cute." She just loves Korty Kort so much, and I think it is absoluely adorable and so sweet. Thanks so much to all of the family for coming and for helping us celebrate this special day with the two of them. And also thank you so much for the gifts.

Golfing - or should I say.... trying to golf!!!!!

Randy had a I Team meeting in Pocatello. So McKesson, Kortlyn and I went up there after the meetings were over. All of the guys and there families were having a BBQ and golf party. Can I just say I can not golf what so ever. Randy is good and McKesson did better than me. We had a good time and it was really nice to meet all of the guys on the I Team. That night we stayed up there with Randy in the motel and came home the next morning after Randall took us to breakfast.

KortLyn got tubes put in her ears and is now loving life. When we had her I said to Dr. Huff "will you please just put tubes in her ears before we leave the hospital?" He just laughed and said "if I could I would, but maybe this time around will be different." Well the good luck lasted for almost a year and then there we were in the hospital getting the dang things. One good thing is that they may be a little groggy from the surgery but after they come out of it they are so much happier than they were before they had them done. Our first 3 girls all had tubes put in their ears and I guess KortLyn didn't want to feel left out. Things went really good and I am so thankful for them so that I can have my happy healthy baby back. She was such a trooper. We also took her bottle away from her the same day as her surgery and she did so good - no problems with it and she didn't miss it for one second. I kept telling Randy that I was going to take it from her as soon as we ran out of formula, which convenently happened to land on the same day as her surgery. Randy kept saying "I will believe it when I see it." Well I did it and proved him wrong. I guess I have more faith in her than he does. :) Love ya baby girl!

Our flight to Vegas

So it was our 13 year anniversary on the 26th so we decided to have a little get away and run off to Vegas for the weekend. We asked John and Shahna to go with us since it is also their anniversary next month. We had a compete blast. So here we are on our flight to Las Vegas...... I was scared to death. The last time I flew was when I was about 5 and I though I was going to fall through the floor of the plane. I can say that I did overcome that fear, but this time I was so afraid the engine was going to shut down and there we have it, we would falling out of the sky and be dead and not be able to raise the girls. We survived or should I say I survived and now I would do it again and I hope not be as scared.

I love the look of these buildings. They make you feel like you are really there. (I hope Randy doesn't feel like he is really the woman in the bikini though). Randy and I went on the roller coaster at New York - New York and were terrified. I told him that I was so glad that we weren't riding it in the day because it is scary enough at night. On the way up to the top of the roller coaster I was so scared so I started to say a prayer out loud for us. Randy was laughing and I said "I could care less if anyone hears me I am scared to death and I would like to come off of this thing alive." Needless to say I would do it again, it was such a rush.

This is a picture of us at the Shark Reef. We had a good time but were so tired. We had just arrived in Vegas and had not had any sleep the night before or that day. We had to leave home at 3:00 a.m. and didn't go to bed until around 12:00 a.m. that night. Randy, John and Shahna all got some sleep but when I know that I have to get up in a few hours I can't sleep for some odd reason. We were exhausted and just kinda there. Although we were tired we still kept going into the morning around 2:30 or so. Sleep that night was so nice and I think we all slept like babies.

Tournament of the Kings

We went to the Jousting show at the Excalibur and had a good time. For those of you who are thinking of going to Vegas this show was awesome and worth the money. They serve you a dinner and you eat it all with your hands just like you would in the mid evil times. The horses are amazing and are so calm. They are around fire and fireworks and very loud noises and don't even flinch. We asked the guy that is in the last picture how much they pay for these horses and he said around $55 grand. Biggest chocolate fountain in the world.

We were so lucky to get to go to the Defending the Cave men show with Jed and Marj and also to eat dinner with them. The show was so funny and we laughed our guts out. There was some crude parts in it but we looked past them and just enjoyed the comedy. Jed and Marj used to live here and moved to Vegas about 4 years ago and have been deeply missed since. It was so nice to get to spend the evening with them. Then the next day they came and got us and took us to downtown Vegas and where we went shopping at the outlet stores. Vegas is so big and there is so much to do but you get lost so it was so nice to have someone take you around to see all of the main attractions and know where they are going. When we arrived in Vegas and were walking around by ourselves we got lost so bad. Those casinos are so big and you have no idea where you are going and what you are doing.

MaKayja has now lost her two front teeth. She is so tough. They weren't quite loose enough to pull but she insisted that Randy try really hard to get them out. So of course he did. He had to pull really hard but succeeded in the end. She didn't even bat an eye. She is one tough cookie.

Learning to Crawl......

Yippee, KortLyn has officially learned to crawl. She cruises around the house and gets into a lot of mischief. All of the pictures or things that were put down low are now put away for awhile. I love nothing more than to be in the other room and for her to crawl in and find me. Randy had to go on data collections for work and I told him "watch KortLyn will start to crawl while you are gone." Of course he didn't believe me and said "whatever." Did she ever prove him wrong. Sorry Randall...... I told him on the phone that she had crawled two steps and he of course thought I was lying, but I wasn't. When he got home she showed him what a big girl she is and crawled about 10 steps. Gotta love it when they get bigger.

So the easter bunny paid a visit to our house. Easter is one of the girls favorite holidays and they get so excited for it every year. Come January we always get asked "when is easter coming, I want easter to be here." I think it is so cute what kids get excited over. KodiAnn and MaKayja wrote the easter bunny a letter and left him some milk (isn't that usually for Santa). This year the easter bunny brought the girls a kite, movies and sleeping bags for the camper and of course the usual, candy. KortLyn got a dress and a baby since she is to little for all the other. She loves her little baby and is very protective of it, none of us can touch it or she cries. Then easter afternoon we all went to Grandma and Grandpa Skinner's house and had a easter egg hunt and a yummy dinner. Thanks Ellen we appreciate it and the girls had a ton of fun. So I guess it is another year till the Easter Bunny comes. (hehe)

Over spring break vacation we also went to the Desert Star Theater, in Salt Lake City. It was so funny and we laughed our bums off. It was really comical and they did a lot of twists in the play. For example.... the names of the actors were changed.... Tanya Trucker who only knew how to sing primary songs, Bo Biceps, Polly Medulla, Ryan Snoozefest, Dylan Ai-Chihuahua, and of course let's not forget the famous Simon Cowell who had gotten into a car wreck so he was replaced my his brother Theodore Scowl (get it Simon and Theodore). Tanya Trucker and Bo Biceps fell in love and she was so scared to ever take him home to family home evening because her father would be upset because of his long hair. It was really cute and funny and the girls had a great time. Thanks Grandma (up on the hill :) ha, ha that's what the girls call her) for watching KortLyn and McKesson for the night and taking time out of your spring break vacation and time with your sister.

Living Planet Aquarium

We had so much fun this year over spring break vacation. We went to Salt Lake and went bummin with the girls. These are pictures of us at the Living Planet Aquarium. The fish were really neat and so much fun to watch. You can pet the sting rays, starfish and some others that I can't remember the names of. The girls thought the string rays were really neat and were totally grossed out at how slimy they are. One of them was coming up on the side of the tank and putting it's nose out of the water so we got to pet his nose and then he would flap his body and get everyone wet. The octopus was also active and moving around while we were there which is very rare. They are so incredibly ugly and the most disgusting thing I have ever seen, and it's much worse when they are moving and you can really see their face. I asked randy if he would ever eat squid again after seeing that and he said probably not. Thank goodness because I am the one kissing him. :) This place was so much fun and we would really like to go back again with the girls.

3-D Movie at Thanksgiving Point

We also took the girls to the Safari 3-D movie at Thanksgiving Point. It was a lot of fun to watch them try to grab the object as they were coming towards them. They laughed a lot and wanted to go to the next showing but It was time to hit target and go on home. I remember being a little girl and going to Jaws in 3-D and being so scared. The girls were a lot braver than I was and loved it. What a fun weekend we had I hope we can do something fun again next year.

Grandma (Grandma in Logan as the girls call her) and KortLyn were playing peek - A - boo and E.T. Phone home and it was so dang cute and KortLyn thought it was so fun. My mom would get on one side of the chair and KortLyn on the other and stick their pointer fingers in the slots and touch them. What a silly girl. And then of course Grandma had to hold the little snuggle bug and tell her how much she loves her. I would have to say KortLyn is also quit the Grandma's girl.

Okay so the competition is over. KortLyn is now saying "Da Da". It is so cute and thrills Randy to death. She is such a sweetheart and the love of our lives. The girls think she is the best thing since sliced bread. It makes it so much fun to see the older girls love her so much. Now if she would just crawl. She has been trying to crawl but hasn't got it down as of yet. KortLyn still to this day has rolled over twice in her life. What's up with that? I have always said that she just needs to stay little forever and she is doing a great job of it. She has such a fun and cute personality and makes us laugh all the time. When she was little we would all fight over who got to hold her first, usually that wears off in time, but in our home it is still the race to see who can get her out of bed first and who can hold her next and so on. I guess some things never change. Maybe that is why she is so content with life and would prefer to just sit there and hang out.

KodiAnn had a third grade program at school called Take Your Hats Off. She is so not like me and shy. She got up there with confidence and was not scared a bit. I am so proud of her. Drama - Drama - Drama

Okay this morning was so incredibly full of drama in our house. Anyone that knows our little McKesson knows that she is the most determined child on earth. Her hair, her clothes, her shoes, her whole everything is never just right. She knows exactly how things should look and be done and that is just the way it is. Getting ready for the day is always a traumatic experience for her. Maybe I should just take her out naked once. Do you think it would change anything? So this morning was an interesting one. Since Randy and I are sick we thought we would send the girls to church with Grandma and Grandpa (thanks G&G). All the girls got dressed, brushed their teeth and I got their hair done. McKenzie came to get them and I noticed McKesson had no tights or shoes on. I told her she needed to get them and put them on. She then decided to have a total come apart and threw herself on the floor and started kicking and screaming because she thinks her tights fall off her bum. Who in the world has tights that fall off their bum? So I got them and proceeded to put them on her as she was kicking and screaming, all the while I was trying to explain to her that it is cold outside and she has been sick so she needed to wear them. She still insisted to throw her fit, so Randy picked her up and put her in her bedroom and told her she wasn't going to church if she was going to act like that. In the meantime the other girls left.

So I got a phone call this afternoon from Randy's Aunt telling me they asked MaKayja where McKesson was and she said in a very matter a fact way "she wouldn't wear her tights so she didn't get to come to church." Cindy thought it was so funny so she had to call and tell me about it. Then later I checked my facebook and there was a message from a friend telling me the story and how funny her husband thought it was. He got the biggest kick out of it.

I tell you kids and there honesty. You can't get away with anything at all. I wonder what the Bishop would think if he knew? Can you really keep your child home over tights?

Life in Our Home

I really need to post some new pictures but I don't have any that are fun and exciting. The last week an a half has been rough in our house. We all have decided to get the flu - fevers, body aches, ear infections, coughing, sore throats, chest cold and sinus infections. What more can I mention? KortLyn got really sick and still has not gotten all the way over it. I am crossing my fingers that she is on the winning end though. Then McKesson and MaKayja decided it was their turn, but they are doing a lot better. And of course now it is Randy and I's turn. And last but not least KodiAnn is doing great. That girl never gets sick - lucky her! I really hope it will all just disappear soon, because it stinks!

Just the girls!!!

We had a fun filled day on Valentine's Day!!! Randy and Brandon had to go to work so Stacy and I decided that we would spend Valentine's Day together with the girls. We made a yummy dinner and ate by candle light. We gave the girls little bags with socks, bubble gum and finger nail polish in them. The girls played and played, and we set up Stacy's blog (yeah, it's about time, girl). Anyways thanks Stac it was a ton of fun and I am so glad we got to enjoy the day together with the girls!!!

1st Grade Manners Tea

Every year the first grade does a Manners Tea for the school and parents. They have so much fun and work hard for a long time to learn all of the dances. I always get the biggest kick when they do the chicken dance, it is so dang cute. MaKayja was dancing with her partner who was Miles and she would get a little bossy when she felt he wasn't doing the things that she thought he should do. Sometimes it was even the eye and her saying "Miles" with a cute little smile to catch his attention. She is so full of personality and spunk sometimes I wonder. After they perform they get to have the manners tea, and have cake, nuts and a drink. After this is all done they get to have their usual class Valentine's party. What a fun day for her and a joy for all of us to watch. Good Job Sissy!!!!!

50's Murder Party

Friday night Aunt Kelly and Uncle Justin hosted a murder party and we had a complete blast. For those that don't know what these are, they are a completely fun. The theme for this one was the 50's. . You all have a script and a person that you are going to play, you dress up as that person and act out their part. In the end of the game you try to guess who the murderer is. On this one, the murder took place while they were all having a BBQ, a storm came up so all of the players went inside the house except the guy that got murdered. But there is always twists in it so the it is hard to figure out who actually did the murder. In this one Shahna was the murderer and she was also the fiance of the guy who had been killed. (what is it with you girl you are always the murder in the end). You also have dinner, so since this was a 50's theme and a BBQ one we had hamburgers, fries and milk shakes. Yum, Yum!! Anyways if you haven't hosted one of these they are well worth it and so much fun. Thanks Justin and Kelly for the great night.

A couple of weeks ago I was so tired of being cooped up in the house after having my hysterectomy, so I told Randy lets go for a walk. The sun was shinning and I thought maybe having a little fresh air would give me the pick up that was way overdue. We bundled up KortLyn and McKesson and went for a stroll and had a great time. I thought she looked so cute in her puffy coat and hat with her little rosy cheeks, so I had to take a picture.

As anyone can imagine with a house full of all girls (and of course Dad) they are often playing dress up. We have all kinds of dress ups from fairies to princesses to doctors and of course the cow costume. Anyways MaKayja and McKesson thought it would be fun to dress up KortLyn a little, so they found this little beeny hat. I thought she looked so cute and had to have a snapshot of it. Okay so MaKayja and McKesson were playing the other night and walked out of their room in this little get up (gotta love it, right). Anyways the next thing we knew they had put in the exercise DVD and were goin to town. Randy and I were laughing so hard I think we could have wet our pants. All while this was going on and we were laughing so hard they could have cared less and continued with all the fun. Man I wish I had the energy they have (maybe I would look half way decent in a swimsuit in that case, the things we can learn from our kids if we would just follow their example). Oh and, gotta love the sports bras, right.

I remember being little and some of my best memories were in a box. And so the story goes on with our girls. KodiAnn and MaKayja thought it would be pretty funny to put KortLyn in a box. She thought it was so much fun and laughed and cooed and had a great time. I guess we need to keep a box around at all times because it is the cheapest toy a child could have.

For Christmas we got the game sing pop for the PlayStation. So we got the whole family in on it and were having singing competitions. We had a complete blast and laughed our butts off. Needless to say KodiAnn kicks my rear on the game and wins me everytime. She is awesome. It is so fun to have the kids sing and then do a play back for them to hear themselves singing. They laugh and think it is so funny. I really don't like to hear myself, I already know that I am the worlds worst singer so I don't need to hear it to remind myself. Thanks to everyone who came and celebrated with her on her special day.... We love you!!! Mom and Patrick we missed you two and are waiting patiently for the house in Pocatello to get done so you can party with the rest of us.

Okay so should I be sad that she is my last and sitting up, or should I celebrate? Mmmmm..... I think alittle of both. Okay, I will be fine for now but don't ask me how I feel when she starts to crawl or walk. I will need a box of kleenex for that day. She gets so excited and thinks she is the biggest thing ever to be able to sit up and play with her toys. One thing for sure is it makes things alittle easier, I think we can retire the bumbo.

KodiAnn got a new BB gun for Christmas from Santa. Of course it had to be PiNk.... What more can you expect with a house full of girls. Randy took them out shooting and had a blast with them. I always tell him you don't have to have boys to enjoy the boy sports in life. I think he is now learning this is so true. The girls love to shoot, hunt, play in the mud and go to the barn with their Dad.
